With inflation rising, and the cost of everyday necessities along with it, many people are being forced to choose between keeping a roof over their heads and purchasing nutritionally dense, fresh foods. While many workplaces in our area (such as the oil and gas industry) are raising their wages to account of the higher price is living, seniors living on fixed incomes do not have that luxury. Food insecurity increases the chances of a myriad of negative effects, including lower nutrient intake, poorer health outcomes, and mental health issues. That is why for Giving Tuesday we are asking for your help.

At Age Friendly Cold Lake, we purchase nutritionally balanced frozen meals tailored to senior’s unique dietary needs. We offer these meals at a subsidy of up to 50% off to low-income seniors. For many seniors, that subsidy makes the difference between being able to afford high quality foods or not. We can’t continue to offer these subsidies without donors like you supporting us. Please consider donating today to help feed vulnerable seniors in the Cold Lake area.

  • For only $10, you can help us provide 2 meals for vulnerable, low-income seniors.
